What we want to see outside our windows.  Trees, sea or mountains.

In the living room, I see the big tv in front of me, a big window behind me. One is a window for entertainment, playing films and other things. When the birds start flocking to the windows making loud noises or chirping softly, I turn my head involuntarily to have a look at the miniature guests.

When I lie down on a bed in the bedroom, it is glass windows, curtains and the big tree outside, housing multiple birds, squirrels and their busy activities in search of food and other necessities. Our windows give them some change away from their home. They perch on windowsills, they are noisy, they search for food, they peep. The parrots have long tails which make them look taller, the pigeons are plumpy and some tiny birds hopping without making any sound. I observed that the squirrels are one of the fastest tree climbers. But surprisingly there are no monkeys. Maybe because there are no fruit trees.

And then the beauty of simple floral curtains than the heavy regal ones. Curtains need windows and windows need curtains to give that feeling of beauty and privacy. There were times when curtains were not for ordinary homes. They had bare windows. No bother of washing and maintaining curtains.

Having a view of the sea or ocean from the windows.

People are ready to pay crores to have a perfect view of the sea. We lived in a house in Goa, where we could hear the sound of the waves as our house was near the Arabian sea. People used the sea as natural  transportation to nearby places.

The fun part of visiting beaches was losing our cheap chappals while enjoying the waves which threatened to swallow us. Most of the time, we got back our chappals. And our lives too. And then?

Then the glory of sunset, the creeping darkness, the twinkling stars, the beach getting lonelier as people start leaving.

What about looking at mountains, snow clad or otherwise from our windows? The serenity is indescribable, making us not to leave the windows. Just watching the majestic blue black mountains, the occasional waterfall and other natural delights like sunrise and sunset. The clouds sailing past and covering the peaks. Then the howling winds accompanied by rain. The cold breeze purifying the mind from all material things that bother us.

The other Window provides a wider view but without the physical contact with the nature.
